He was born on December 20, 1967 at the old Baptist Hospital in Jackson, the only child to his parents, Donald and Helen Harthcock. Michael worked as plant manager at Alden Renewable Energy Group in Raleigh; in fact, he would often recall the process of helping to open the site. He actually had an impressive slew of stories to tell and was all-around just quite the character. Although Michael enjoyed to be funny at times, he also knew how to give advice. A loving father, husband, and grandfather, Michael was the epitome of a family man. He spent many hours with his son and grandboys in the yard, combining his love for landscaping and quality time with loved ones. In addition, Michael would have gatherings, with him manning food at the grill. Free moments could find him watching Texas Rangers baseball, Florida Gators football, sharing his love for music, or riding his tractor.
Michael is reunited in Heaven with his father, Don Harthcock and with his mother, Helen Whitehead Harthcock.
His legacy continues on Earth with his endearing wife of 33 years, Elizabeth Dilmore Harthcock; children, Seth Harthcock, Charlene Piner, Shane Haze (Brandi), and Daisy Piner; grandchildren, Rayden Piner, Eli Piner, Oliver Haze, Ethan Barlow, Nevaeh Storms, and Skyler Peck; niece, Julia Dilmore; nephews, Chase Hegwood and Austin Muirhead; and a number of other cherished extended family members and friends.
He will be so deeply missed by so many.
