Visitation will be from 5 - 8pm Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Thursday at Center Hill Baptist Church, Carthage, with interment in the church cemetery.
Mr. Pope worked as a purchasing agent for Mississippi State Hospital for 35 years. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid gardener having his own garden up until a few years ago. Friends and family alike will remember him as having a heart of gold. He would do anything for anybody and never had a bad thing to say about anyone.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Pope.
Mr. Pope is survived by his wife, Brenda Pope; son, Donald Pope; stepson, Keith Jones (Kathy); brother, Guy Pope (Terri) of Cedar Lake, IN; sisters, Janette Porter (Jimmy) and Linda Sintay of New Zion, SC, Margie Quick (Bob) of Carthage, Patricia Lawson (Gene) of Lyman, and Debrah Wade (Tony) of Ellisville; and three grandchildren, Kody, Korey and Kayley Jones.
