He was born July 21, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois, a son of the late Oscar and Cary Wilson. Robert learned from an early age the merit of family and the dignity of an honest day’s work. He retained these values throughout his life and endeavored to pass these on to his children.
Robert was employed for more than 30 years with HD Clutch and Brake of Richland where he was respected by coworkers and customers alike.
In his free time Robert liked watching Nascar races, New Orleans Saints ball games, Godzilla movies, and enjoying a cold brew.
Robert’s family was at the heart of everything he did and he took pride in providing for them. Whether reminiscing about the Playstation 2 he got them or the way he made each of them feel like they were the center of his universe, his children will carry precious memories of their times together.
Robert was a true friend and cared about others. He never wanted anyone to be concerned about him, rather, he wanted to help and provide for everyone else.
He is survived by sons, Robert Wilson (Morgan), and Gerald Wilson (Hanah); daughters, Amy Stevens, and Brandy Spell (David); brother, Jimmy Wilson; sisters, Brenda Martin, Kim Knight, Ann Lester, and Wanda Wilson; grandchildren, Oliver Wilson, Kopelynn Anthens, Joseph “Buck” Stevens, Jody Stevens, Edward Stevens, and Luna Spell; great-grandchild, Danny Stevens; and his best friend and brother from another mother, Earl “Dusty” Orso.
