A visitation for Ruby will be held from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Macedonia Baptist Church, Mendenhall, Mississippi, followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm. Burial will take place at the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
Ruby was born on April 23, 1936 to the late W.L. Burkett and Essie Mae Barron Burkett. She worked for several years with Presto Manufacturing Company, and worked her way up to position of inspector. In her free time, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and sewing. She also liked donating her time to others and volunteering at nursing homes.
In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Ann Vance.
She is survived by her sister, Edith Wallace (Don); nieces, Tammy Frazier (Gerald) and Cindy Palmer (Bubba); nephews, Brad Wallace (Jennifer), Carey Wallace (Misty), and Casey Wallace; as well as several beloved great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Ruby will be so dearly missed.
