Visitation will be held from 10:00am until 11:00am, Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, with funeral services at 11:00am. Graveside services will follow at 2:30pm at the Dover Cemetery in Bentonia, Mississippi.
Ruthie was truly a “people person” and she was most content when she was doing something for someone else. Whether caring for her own family or friends and neighbors, Ruthie found her greatest joy in serving others. In her free time she loved caring for her beautiful flower garden, and she enjoyed attending services at the Springs of Praise World Outreach Center in Crystal Springs, Mississippi.
Ruthie was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Powell; and sons, Richard Earl Allen, and David Lee Allen.
Survivors include daughter, Leshea Taylor; son, John Chisum and wife Lisa; 9 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
