Sam was raised in the small town of Homer, LA. Upon high school graduation he ventured in many directions including working in the oil fields as well as proudly serving his country in the United States Navy. While in the Navy he served as an Aviation Electronics Technician for the Hurricane Hunters division. Utilizing the electronics skill gained in the Navy, Sam was a dedicated member of AT&T where he served in many capacities over his more than 30 year career.
In his personal time he loved being a DIY and “jack of all trades” with projects ranging from automobile repair to home renovations. He would express his creative side through leather and woodworking. Sam enjoyed making his family and friends laugh with his natural sense of humor.
Sam’s family was his main priority and he was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren. Some of his fondest adventures with them involved the outdoors, particularly camping and fishing. Sam also had a tender spot for all the family pets. Perhaps the greatest legacy Sam leaves will be his exemplary example of dedication to family, country and labor.
