The family will receive friends from 1:30pm until 2:30pm Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, followed by a graveside service at 3:00pm at the Lakewood Memorial Park Pavilion on Clinton Boulevard in Jackson, Mississippi.
Born November 9, 1944 in Pascagoula, Mississippi to the late Clayton Miller and Frances Gant Miller, she worked briefly as a secretary before going full time as a proud homemaker and proud mother. Shirley had a signature sassy personality and delighted in working in her immaculately kept yard as well as doting on her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, preceding her in death is her late husband, Charles Pennington.
Survivors include three daughters Kim (Toney) Hollingshead, Jamie (Jim) Ross and Jennifer (Joe) Bennett; along with eight grand-children, Josh, Jordan and Jarred Hollingshead, Brandi Barnes, Sara Barr, John Ross, Chandler Patrick, and Zoey Roberts; nine great grand-children; one sister, Shirrel Benton; and a number of other beloved extended family members and friends.
Shirley will be dearly missed by those who loved her.
