Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Primary Purpose Club building, 404 N Bierdeman Rd, Pearl, MS.
Steve was born September 19, 1956, in Dayton, Kentucky, a son of the late Louis Ferdinand Schrader, Jr. and Wilma Spurlock Schrader.
Steve enjoyed a long, fulfilling career in television broadcasting. He served as an engineer for more than 30 years, working for both WJTV and WHLT.
Steve’s life forever changed with his commitment to sobriety on January 17, 1995. He was passionate about helping others recover and stay sober, so much in fact that he purchased the building on N Bierdeman Rd and founded the Primary Purpose Group of Alcoholics Anonymous in Pearl in December 2009. Because of his dedication to help others get sober and stay sober many people have recovered, and Steve was extremely proud that Primary Purpose is still helping others today.
Steve enjoyed spending his free time with his family, especially his precious grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Kendra Elaine Schrader; sister, Sandra Yelverton; children, Nichole Stewart and husband Carl, Emilee Hurst, and Kennon Hurst and wife Sabrina; grandchildren, Anders Stewart, Gunner Stewart, Kiara Hurst, James Barthel, and Leigh Barthel.
