Dear Lou Ann, So sorry to hear about Steve, He and I worked for Seabrooks Paint Co back in the early 80's. We were both in outside sales, and we would meet up for lunch and compare our sales stories, and how hard it was to sell high quality paint. Steve always out sold me, I think because he never met a stranger,I always told him
he could sell ice to an eskimo, I know he will be missed by all. You and the children and grandkids are in our prayers.

Dear Lou Anne, Chris, Melissa, Heather, and all your family,

How saddened I was for you when I learned of the death of Steve.  It seemed so sudden, so unexpected and yet we knew he had been very ill recently.  I know your grief is heavy, so we pray for you in all the days ahead--that you will sense in a special way our Heavenly Father as He lifts you up and surrounds you in His loving arms, that you will know the peace, comfort, wisdom, and strength that He supplies as He hurts for you too.  You have so many friends, and we will stay by you for whatever you may need.

I cried when I saw the email of Bubba's death. I will forever love you both and enjoy the brief but important memories. Bubba and I sat in choir together at Provine for one year and ate lunch together every day, hanging out in the patio area before the next class. I loved him to death and always wanted to reconnect with him. I missed that opportunity in this life.

I knew Big Steve for about 33 years. We met one day years ago in the Rose's parking lot where I worked. Steve had his collection of 1866 rifles and the nicest Henry Rifle ever seen in these parts in the trunk of his car. He showed me his collection and from that first meeting our friendship grew...talking and trading guns. Many of those I wish I had back. Steve was a true friend to me and our family and we will truely miss him. When the name Steve Williams is mentioned you immediately think of the big guy with that awsome Henry rifle. He was so proud of that gun keeping it all these years even after numerous offers of people trying to buy it at really high prices. Steve never took any offers . He loved that rifle . It was part of who he was.It seems strange that now Steve is gone and he left behind one thing that  was always part of him....His rifle.  I miss you....Keith Walker

Lou Anne, Christopher, and Melissa, I am so sorry for your loss.  I only wish that Denise and I could be present tomorrow for the funeral.  I will never forget Steve and Melissa putting vaseline on their lips so they could eat some hot meal.  I asked why the vaseline, and was told that it protects their lips from the heat.
Denise and I will be thinking of you tomorrow during the funeral.  We hope to see you this summer when we come to Mississippi.

Always an upbeat, hilariously funny fellow.  We are proud to consider him a friend as well as a client.  His "short" visits to the house early on Saturdays rarely ended before noon.  If there had been just a little bit more time, I truely believe we would have come up with a plan for world peace!  The photo is GREAT and to those who knew him, it is vintage Steve.

I worked with Steve at MDOC for close to 20 years.  We became good friends and he was a joy to see each day with his always smiling face, his bright tropical shirts and his happy disposition.  He used to talk about how he'd love to quit work and do the things he REALLY enjoyed. I wish he could have, too. All I can say is "everyone misses you, Steve, and the world is a sadder place without you," Bless you, Lou Ann. You had a really good husband and a good father to your children. He told me the trips to Disney World yearly would be something for all of you to treasure and I'm sure you do.

My friend and brother from next door neighbors from playing together or camping in the backyard next door will surely be missed all he was a BROTHER in all respects and will be missed by all!!!  Bill Sharp

I grew up on Lexington Avenue, spending a lot of free time playing football with Richard Keys and Bubba.  Many afternoons my Dad would throw  passes to us as we emerged top speed from the side of our house. Big Fun.  There was a Provine reunion for the class of 1973, and  Bubba was there with Lou Anne.  We spent about twenty minutes talking about the downfall of ZZQ and how my Dad always asked Richard and Bubba to look out for me at Provine, "cause Warren's got a smart mouth, and I'm worried he's gonna get beat up over there."  We laughed 'til we cried.  I'll always remember Bubba, and those Sunday afternoons.  Condolences to all  -Warren Furlow

Steve was a wonderful neighbor and a loving human being, he never seemed to meet a strangers and I loved his cooking.  He will be missed greatly by me.  but Steve is with our Lord and he is at peace.

I had the opportunity to work a couple of days with Steve after Hurricane Katrina.  I will always remember his kindness and humor.  May you find comfort during this difficult time through cherished memories.

Words cannot describe what a blessing "Bubba" was to all of us who knew him. Just knowing he was around was a comforting thought.
The times we have spent together was entirely too short; his smile and the smiles he spread will remain with us.
Truly he was "The Man, The Myth, The Legend".
To me, he always will be.

I remember Bubba from Hinds JC Concert Choir.  He was such a nice guy, always making you laugh.  I had the good fortune to run into him several times over the years since and he was always bragging on his family. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Wanted you know how sorry I am about Bubba.  He was a good friend for many many years. When I thinking of memories, the first one that came to mind was eating with Bubba, Norman, Donald and me at the Elite.  We would sit long over our time for lunch talking and eating rolls.  We had some really good times in our early years.  I will be keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
