Wayne was born in Houston, Missouri on April 8, 1930 to Clarence and Carrie Romines. He enlisted and spent time serving in Germany for the United States Air Force from 1951-1954. He married his lovely wife, Barbara Bell, in 1956 and lived in Illiopolis, Illinois. They later moved to Pearl, Mississippi in 1971 to open and operate the I-20 and 49 Truck Plaza where they spent time growing the business and a family. Wayne enjoyed spending time with his family, church, and tinkering (on just about anything) in his shop.
Wayne is survived by his sweet wife of 62 years, Barbara, his brother, Web Romines, his four children, Linda Long (Kenny), Ronnie Romines (Joneen), Ricky Romines (Michelle), and Rodney Romines (Holly). Grandchildren Sarah Romines, Seth Romines (Allyson), Ricky Romines (Melissa), Emily Long, Kristin McNair (Ellis), Olivia Lowery (Jeff), Brad Baskin (Leslie) and Ashley Caizzo. Great-grandchildren Hannah Romines and Kendall Hopper and several nieces, and nephews. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Carrie Romines, and his sister, Hazel Cummins.
Wayne will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving father, precious Pappaw, and faithful servant of the Lord.
Visitation for Wayne is Sunday, September 30, from 4:00pm-7:00pm and Monday, October 1, at 10:00am. A Celebration of Life will be held October 1, at 11:00am. All services will be held at First Free Will Baptist Church at 2412 Upper Drive, Pearl, Mississippi. A graveside service will follow at Crestview Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are being provided by Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home of Pearl.
