

Visitation will be 5:00-6:30pm, Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Memorial services will follow at 6:30pm in the funeral home chapel.
Tom was born Saturday, May 29, 1937, in Rankin County, Mississippi, a son of the late James Henry McKay and Docia Lee George McKay. Following his high school graduation, Tom served honorably with the United States Navy.
Tom owned and operated McKay and Sons, Inc., and retired at the age of 75, after more than 50 years in the construction business. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Brandon, where he built the parsonage and oversaw the construction of the church gym. A true outdoorsman, Tom was an avid hunter and fisherman, but his most favorite times were spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sidney Thompson McKay; sons, Bill McKay and wife Coleen, and Henry McKay and wife Shelia; grandchildren, Cassie Meyer and husband David, Thomas McKay, B.W. Kopf and wife Ashley, Timothy McKay and Faith Garcia and husband Danny; and great-grandchildren, Walker Meyer, Caden Kopf, Cashton Kopf, Maddie Garcia, and Jesse Garcia.
