ATTLAH BURRELL DARENSBOURG was born in Illinois on August 24, 1970 as the oldest child to Gloria and the late Patrick Burrell. They moved to Houston, Texas where Attlah graduated from Willowridge High School (1988) and received a full scholarship in Track and Field to the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff where she graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration (1992). She then attended Southern University Law School in Baton Rouge where she received her Juris Doctorate in Law (1995) and immediately opened her own law firm specializing in criminal and social advocacy for the working class after taking the Oath of Office. As her love for the Lord grew, so did her yearning to formally learn more. Attlah received 3 additional degrees in Divinity and Theology (BS, World Evangelism Bible College and Seminary, 2011 and 2012), and Christian Ministry/Leadership (MS, Grand Canyon Theological Seminary, 2015).
To know Attlah was to know a true connoisseur of all things fashionable as well as edible (especially seafood); to know a guru of interior design that made the most mundane spaces vibrant and welcoming; and to know a health conscious queen who thoroughly enjoyed exercising, whether through power walking around the neighborhood, running on a track or a treadmill, or lifting weights in a gym. But, to truly know Attlah was to know a no-nonsense, wise teacher of the Word of God, an Evangelist, a Warrior for Christ, an Intercessor, a Mentor, a Motivational speaker for all things relating to the Love of God who demonstrated and lived what she preached. She was extremely altruistic and never too busy to offer prayer or encouraging words to anyone. Attlah took it seriously, not just as a token for show, when she dedicated her life to the Lord on July 4, 1996. When the foundation was laid, she never turned back. She joined Jehovah Jireh Ministries in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where she served as an intercessor praise dancer and singer.
Attlah married the Love of her life, Kevin “Red” Darensbourg in 1998 and though they did not have any biological children, they had six God-children as well as many nieces and nephews that they cared for as their own.
Attlah was ordained July 4, 2008 as a Prophetic Teacher who ministered in power, simplicity and compassion where even a child could understand her teachings. She had a heart to please God and was faithful to His Word. In 2017, Attlah began a YouTube Broadcast, “A Way in the Wilderness,” where she would minister and encourage people through teaching the Word of God. She was later called to conduct Bible studies and church services where God had her to Teach a flock of His children.
Attlah was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Kevin Darensbourg; her father, Patrick; and her paternal and maternal grandparents. She leaves to cherish her memories; her mother: Gloria (Glen), two sisters: Yishemah (Clifford with niece and nephew, LaShae and Ryan), Shemah (Anthony with nephew Alexander), one brother: Shahmel (Deborah), and six God-children; Devin Mitchell (TX), Herbert Collins III (LA), Jada Houston (LA), Kristopher-Ryan Ross (TX), Nia and Tiffany Poydras (KS) and a host of Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and friends.
