1952-2024
We are here today to celebrate the life of our beloved mother, wife, sister, and grandmother Donna Rae
Colbert. Donna Colbert was born in Richmond, Virginia on January 28, 1952 to Robert and Barbara Wolfe.
The Wolfe family moved to Florida when the children were young in search of a better life. This journey took them all over the state of Florida. From Jacksonville, to Pensacola to Fort Myers to Boynton Beach, to Ormond Beach, to Daytona Beach, to Tampa, and to Miami.
Donna had a lot to contend with being a tall young lady in times when being tall was not admired as well as having to deal with twin sisters who were getting all the attention. Donna did so and thrived in her own way. Donna was very artistic. She could draw and paint beautifully and her family was trying to convince her to pursue her artistic nature.
When Donna was a teenager she always had a part time job. She worked for a sweet shop in Daytona Beach on the Boardwalk. Then later she worked at the phone company and was rewarded for her efforts by her Mom and Dad with a new car which she was so proud of. Even with all the moves, the Wolfe family was a loving family who had their fair share of struggles.
Donna had a very close relationship with her Mom and Dad as well as her twin sisters. It was in Miami that Donna met her future husband Emmet Colbert. After Donna and Emmet were married in 1973, they followed her Mom and Dad when they moved to the Texas area for a new job opportunity. That move started a new life for Donna and Emmet Colbert.
Donna is preceded in death by her Father and Mother Robert Wolfe and Barbara Wolfe, her sister Lee Rogers, and her grandchildren Addison Colbert and Alexa Colbert.
Donna is survived by her husband Emmet Colbert, her son Glenn Colbert, and her daughter Lisa Colbert and her granddaughter Laci.
Donna will be greatly missed and her memory will live on through her family and friends.
Godspeed Donna, we love you and we will never forget you!
Donna Rae Wolfe Colbert, age 72, of Pearland, Texas passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
