Kathy Brenett Richardson Chevalier was born on June 6,1958 in Columbus, Georgia to Lossie Mitchell-Richardson and Isaiah Richardson. She was the sixth of 8 children combined. Due to her father's service in the United States Army, Kathy and her siblings traveled across the states, and got to see many parts of the world at a young age.
Later, her family settled in Houston, Texas where she attended gradeschool. She attended James H. Law Elementary, Carter G. Woodson Junior High School, and The High School for Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA). After high school, she began travelling and working a full-time job. During this time, she exercised her passions for singing and for sewing & designing clothing for family, friends, and those in need.
In her early adulthood, she met her first husband, Jonathan Chevalier. Although the two shared no children together, they went on to share many life-long memories and forever-family members before parting ways. Years later, Kathy met Michael Bell. Over the years, she formed a bond with her bonus children: Michael Curtis, Dezera Paul, MiQuan Bell, and Shakyra Gibson. The two later had three children together: Monet Bell, Symone Bell-Thomas, and Mitchell Bell. During this time, Kathy began her years working as a full-time educator for Houston Community College and led a program called "Youthbuild" which helped 18-24 year olds obtain their GED while learning construction and other life skills. It was during this time that she formed close rapports with many of her students, even after their graduations.
While juggling a full-time job, being a devoted mother, and being a caretaker of her parents, she took a leap of Faith, and enrolled into college to further her own education. On May 18, 1997, she received her Associate Degree of Applied Science in Office Technology from Houston Community College. Next, on April 30, 2008, she received her Bachelor of Science in Management Degree from the University of Phoenix. Then, on April 30, 2011, she received her Master Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She continued to inspire and motivate individuals to challenge themselves and to always go the extra mile, no matter the task. In 2002, she began dating Wayne Williams. This sparked the beginning of their love and companionship. Although the two didn't have kids together, they merged to form a blended family of 9 beautiful children including: Shundra Brown, Tiffany Gilbert, Jasmine Williams, Kamille Hughes, Tenesha Hughes, and Justin Williams. Throughout the years, they formed what is known today as a life-long connection.
In 2019, Kathy retired from Houston Community College's Adult Education program where she actively served in professional development. She then began focusing on her career as an independent beauty consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics. For years, she diligently built everlasting friendships with her Mary Kay family and clientele. While carrying out the company's mission and values, she ultimately reached her personal goal of becoming a "Red Jacket" consultant.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Lossie & Isaiah Richardson, her brother Wolfgang "Leon" Richardson, her sister Deborah Joyce Patton, and her grand-daughter Janilah Williams.
