Linda was born on January 28,1942 to Preston Frazier and Stella (Gillam) Graham. Linda was raised in Du Quoin, IL. She married George William Rolando on March 17, 1962, at First Baptist Church in Dowell, IL and together they enjoyed a loving marriage for 53 years.
Linda was a caring daughter and sister, a devoted wife, a loving mother, and true friend to many. She attended Southern Illinois University and obtained an associate degree and formed several lifelong friendships while there. She loved to shop for clothes and shoes, read books, and cross-stitch in her spare time. She was always cooking – for the family or to entertain extended family or friends. She loved her sweets!
Linda’s career choices included working at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Du Quoin and for the Chamber of Commerce in Pensacola, FL. Later she worked as an executive assistant in banking for McAllen State Bank and Texas State Bank. Linda retired from Texas State Bank, in 2007, after 20 years of dedicated service to them.
George and Linda were active in their Christian faith while living in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. Church memberships included the First Baptist Churches of Pharr and San Juan. They were founding members of Harvest Baptist Church in Alamo, TX. They then became members of Baptist Temple in McAllen, TX.
Linda is survived by her children William Scott Rolando, his wife Ruth, of Fayetteville, TN; and Amy Ely, her husband Randall, of Pearland, TX; along with three grandsons and their families: Darryl Ray Cranfill, Jr., his wife Patrina, along with their daughter Samantha; Allen Preston Cranfill, his wife Susan, along with their daughter Katerina; and William Antony Rolando, his wife Latisha, along with their daughters Emma and Anna.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Maribel McMillan and Barbara Kronk, and her husband, George, who passed away in 2015.
A Celebration of Life to Honor Linda will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Forest Park South Funeral Home, 12650 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland, TX. Linda’s final resting place will be in Du Quoin at the I.O.O.F. (Odd Fellows) Cemetery. She will be placed next to her husband on March 17, 2026, which was their wedding anniversary.
It has been a long journey, these past eleven years, for her and Amy. While Alzheimer’s gradually changed so much of her, it never erased the love she gave or the impact she had. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer's Association (see link below) to help find a cure for this horrible disease and to provide support services to other family members.
Special thanks to the staff at Cypress Creek Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Cypress, TX for the care they provided her for the past six and a half years. Vitas Healthcare also provided oversight in her care for the past four years. Deepest thanks to everyone who helped to take great care of her.
