

Marina Gambala Alviento, a devoted wife, and faithful member of her community, passed away on February 5, 2026, at the age of 94. She was born on August 15, 1931, in Candon, Ilocos, Philippines. Marina was a long-time resident of Houston, Texas, where she spent her final years.
Marina was a high school graduate and was married to her husband, Pedro R. Alviento, for 56 years, until his passing. Throughout their life together, Marina demonstrated unwavering loyalty and devotion to her family.
Her involvement in the community was notable, as she was an active participant in several organizations, including the Apostalado, Legion of Mary, Mother Butler Guild, PASCOH, and St. Albert of Trapani Catholic Church . Her dedication to her faith was evident through her service and participation in these groups.
Marina is survived by her daughters: Helen Diego, Milagros Gomes, Marlene Bala, and Maritess Martinez and her sons: Benjamin Alviento, Manuel Alviento, Eduardo Alviento, and Romel Alviento. Her grandchildren include Audrey Diego, Noel Diego, Benedict Alviento, Micah Lee, Justin Alviento, Julian Alviento, Erik Alviento, Erika Alviento, Matthew Gomes, Manuel Gomes, Mark Gomes, Troy Martyn Bala, and Mariel Martinez. She is also remembered by her daughters-in-law: Melody Alviento, Juliet Alviento, Elizabeth Alviento, and Magnolia Alviento, and her sons-in-law: Daniel Diego, Hilary Gomes, Troy Bala, and Gabriel Martinez.
Marina is predeceased by her husband, Pedro R. Alviento, her father, Gervacio Gambala, her mother, Falavia Raguindin, her sister, Romana Amores, and her brother, Eustaquio Gambala.
The family would like to give special thanks to caregivers Sheilla Fort-David and Golda Ybarra for their attentive care and support.
Marina will be laid to rest at Forest Park Westheimer, where she will be fondly remembered for her devout faith, loyal nature, and dedicated family life.
