Born October 21, 1925 in Herrick to Harry and Ethel Walker Hilliard, she married Charles E. "Chuck" Rhodes on March 10, 1946 in Herrick. He diedFebruary 24, 1986 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by one sister.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda (Rich) Byars and Rhonda (Roger) Moore, both of Pekin and Debra (Joseph) Bickerman of Henry; one son, Stephen Rhodes of Pekin; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Helen was employed at Wal-Mart in Pekin for 19 years, last working Saturday. Previously, she had worked for JCPenney's in Pekin.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Pekin and she enjoyed cooking.
Her funeralwill be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2006at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
