

Born August 15, 1941 in Danville to Harold C. and Doris L. (Hines) Knight, he married Patricia C. “Pat” McCowen on April 18, 1965 in Ames, Iowa. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, John (Brad Lyons) Knight of Chicago and Steven (Heather) Knight of Pekin; three grandchildren, Kailee Sciortino, Delaney Sciortino and Jamison Knight, all of Pekin; one brother, Larry Knight of Leesburg, Florida and one sister, Kay Goeken of North Carolina.
His parents preceded him in death.
He served in the United States Army.
A 1959 graduate of Havana High School, Al also was a graduate of Knox College in Galesburg with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Business Administration. Al enjoyed playing baseball in college for Knox.
He worked for First Federal Savings & Loan Association of Pekin for 43 years, retiring as President and C.E.O. on December 31, 2008.
Al enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, bird watching and reading. He also formerly enjoyed golfing and playing racquetball. Al will be remembered for not wanting to be the center of attention and quietly helping others.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin.
His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2018 at Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin. The Rev. Dr. Joel P. Catlin will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
