

Born September 29, 1963 in St. Louis, Missouri to Dr. Simplicio “Sim” Diaz and Dona Joan (Kreighbaum) Legaspi, he married Diane Bontz on April 27, 1991 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his four siblings, Aaron (Debbi) Legaspi of Peoria, Matt (Brenda) Legaspi of Edwards, Lisa (Nick) Legaspi of Metamora and Lanell (Roger) Huber of Bartonville; his beloved pets, Stormy, Snowflake, Girlie, Lucky-Lou, Gracie and JC Penny; five sisters-in-law, Deborah (George) Andreadis, Florence (Doug) Clark, Patricia (Curt) Caudill, Barbara (John) Cunningham and Linda Look; four brothers-in-law, David (Jody) Bontz, George Bontz,William Bontz and Robert Bontz; and 33 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Andy belonged to the Carpenters Local Union 237 of East Peoria for 20 years. In retirement, Andy called himself a “turf specialist”.
Quite the jokester, Andy had an infectious laugh. He enjoyed traveling and going on vacation with his family to St. Maarten, Myrtle Beach and Florida, watching movies with his wife, baking and gardening. He loved Raber Packing Co., Texas Roadhouse, and Hammer’s Breakfast. He also enjoyed motorcycles, jeeps, cooking and grilling.
He was a member of Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Bartonville.
His memorial Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2025 at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Bartonville. Father Charles Klamut and Father David Heinz will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the church. Private burial will take place at a later date.
