I am so sorry for your loss.  I did not know Andy well as he was older than I, but I did know his brothers and the Bontz brothers well.  What wonderful, close-nit families.  We would all like to have families like that.

 I have a funny story about Andy to hopefully make everyone laugh for a minute in this time of grief. Andy was a senior football player when I was an 8th grader playing JFL football.  As an 8th grader, I looked up to but was terrified of the senior football players so I kept my distance like a good 8th grader should. I always heard about this legendary noseguard named Andy who could somehow line up in a 4-point stance over a center and blow snot out of his facemask (without covering up a nostril) onto the opposing center’s hand (which was on the ball) causing the center to flinch and move the ball. Andy would then drill the center and the penalty would be on the center!  Brilliant!  I never got to see this in person, but it was a legendary story that grew over the years.   I used to tell noseguards this story when I coached JFL to see if they would try it and no takers.

The legend lives on!

Andy, you will be so missed by many. We will miss seeing your smiling face all over Bartonville. Rest in peace dear friend. ❤️🙏

Andy, where do I even start? Going into work has just been so quiet. It’s not the same ): I miss hearing you accidentally on purpose mispronounce my name yelling it halfway across the store. quite the jokester you will forever be. You Are Loved, You Are Missed. To the Family of Andy. I went to High School with Andy I had him in many classes together. We also played football, what fun times. He always called me his Left Guard. Andy was a tough nosed player on the field. He roared like a lion but off the field he was a gentle giant with a heart of gold. I would always run into Andy in different places over the years. Andy never changed still the same gentle giant. He always beamed with happiness of live." We did not realize we were making memories. We just knew we were having fun " Winnie the Pooh. Andy may the Angels lead you into paradise, and may the Martyrs and Saints greet your coming home. May you find welcome there in God's dwelling place...

You could always find Andy by just listening for his laugh or watch for that smiling face! Always glad to see him with Diane and she brighten up when sharing time together.  Time will move on, but he will always be with you and those memories you shared.

I am so sorry to hear about Andy. I remember Andy when he was growing up in our small subdivision in Bartonville. He was much younger than I was but he did hang out with my brother Tim so I did get to know him. He always seemed to have a positive attitude and was very kind hearted. A personality like that will surely be missed. Our condolences to his entire family.

Andy and I go back to High School Days even though we didn’t attend the same school ,we completed against each other in football and wrestling and then we worked in the trades Andy and carpenter and me a plumber we would run into each other on jobs . Andy was always a fun great person to be around very professional when needed and fun otherwise he will be missed greatly my prayers go to his wife and family.

Dear Diane and family, we extend our deepest sympathy.  Ed and I always looked forward to your afternoon walks with Andy. He had the most joyful laugh. It was contagious. He will be deeply missed.

To all of Andy's family:  There is nothing to take your pain away, it's hard and it hurts.  I hope you find a bit of comfort in knowing how many people loved Andy.  I was part of Limestone Class of '81 with Andy.  I'm grateful that he and I kept in touch - wish it would have been more often-  He made me laugh! Andy I will always remember you !  You lived down the street and you and your brothers were always doing something outside…I just remember how allergic you were to mosquitos!!!  You were always the kid with a smile and you didn’t have a mean thing to say about anybody.   You lived your life just as you wanted to.   I’ll  miss those pics of all that good food you cooked and those vacations you and Diane took.  Rest in peace and tell your mom I miss her too❤️

I had the privilege of meeting Andy through a dear friend. He always referred to me as uncle Ray and I called him uncle Andy. Such a sweet knowledgeable man. You will truly be missed by all the lives you touched. I still have a hard time believing you’re not with us anymore. Be at peace brother, we all love you dearly….. Uncle Ray

We met Andy and Diane in Daytona Beach.  His laughter and big heart brought everyone together.  He will be missed by many.  Prayers and sympathies to Diane and the rest of the family.

Andy had such a big heart! He was always so kind and considerate. I worked along side him when he joined my father’s construction crew- probably one of his first construction jobs. We would laugh all day long, even when the job was rough. He will be missed!

I actually remember Andy coming out to a very few of our Summer Football practices between Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years at LCHS.  He mostly talked about the late 20 something muscle heads down at Central Illinois Weightlifting Gym and that we all could expect to be that big by eating good food and putting on about 5-10 pounds of muscle a year, or so. I think that was the first time I ever heard of the word Tofu. Peace be with Andy and family.
