

PEKIN ~ Anna Faye Ridgeway, 84, of Pekin, passed away and went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 5:18 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Hallmark House Nursing Center in Pekin. She was surrounded by her family.
Born June 13, 1930 in Knoxville, TN to Jack W. and Ruby C. (Witenbarger) Wells, she married Rev. Dr. Donald R. Ridgeway on September 12, 1952 in Knoxville, TN. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Scott L. Ridgeway of Peoria; one daughter, Stephani A. (Skip) Penning of Pekin; three grandchildren, Amanda L. Penning, Colton J. Penning, both of Pekin and Andrew S. Ridgeway of Arlington, VA and one sister, Kathryn A. McClellan of Lancaster, OH. She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Janice E. Robertson.
A homemaker, Faye faithfully supported her husband in ministry at the churches in the towns of Crab Orchard, KY, Sullivan, IL, Palestine, IL, Mooresville, IN and Pekin, IL.
Faye was an avid reader and loved music, especially music composed by Mozart or sung by Josh Groban. She also enjoyed playing the piano, but her true focus in life was family.
Faye had been a member of First Christian Church in Pekin since June of 1968.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at First Christian Church in Pekin. The Rev. Michael K. Roberts, Rev. Dwight Winnett and Rev. Timothy McClellan, her nephew, will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Private burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Johnson University, to help equip individuals for Christian ministry and other strategic vocations to extend the kingdom of God, 7900 Johnson Drive, Knoxville, TN 37998.
