Anna W Knowles

Born August 31, 1918 in Midland City to James and Ona (Veeck) Scales, she married Virgil Lorenzie Knowles on August 30, 1937 in Princeton, Indiana. He died September 16, 1994 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and two brothers.

Surviving are one daughter, Patricia (Peter) Carlson of Spring, Texas; two sons, Richard (Jeanna) Knowles of Peoria and Terry Knowles of Wellington, Florida; seven grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and one brother, Everett (LeAnn) Scales of Peoria.

A homemaker, Anna had been a seamstress for Howard Heller in downtown Peoria in years past.

She had been a member of First Baptist Church in Creve Coeur.

Anna enjoyed playing piano and working puzzles daily. In former years, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and crafting.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2008at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Pastor Larry Creekmur will officiate. Burial will be in Fon du Lac Cemetery in East Peoria.
