Barbara "Barb" Ann Wood

Born July 8, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri to Ira Grainer and Elsie Urick, she was raised and adopted by Michael and Josephine (Nasky) Urick in Norfold, Virgina.

She married Wayne Eugene Wood on July 24, 1961 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. He died on June 6, 2017 after 56 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are one daughter, Kathy Webb of Mashpee, Massachusetts; two sons, Michael (Stephanie Davidson) Wood of Scottsdale, Arizona and Patrick (Teresa) Wood of Pekin; five grandchildren, Loreal and Lauren Wood, Jessie and Dalton Webb and Brianna Marisela and three great-grandchildren, Ava, Phoenix and Teddy Ray Simms, Jr.

Barbara worked at Pekin Hospital in Obstetrics for nine years and later for the Red Cross in Peoria as a Donation Nurse for 30 years.

A loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed spending as much time as she could with them. She also loved doing arts and crafts.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.

A gathering celebrating Barbara and Wayne Wood will be held May 15, 2022 at the Pekin Moose Lodge from 1 pm to 5 pm.

Cremation has been accorded by with Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mooseheart Child City and School, 255 James J. Davis Drive, Mooseheart, Illinois 60539.
