

Born July 26, 1925 in Versailles to George and Stella (Ransom) Black, she married Arnold E. Brown on September 8, 1941 in Bowling Green, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her husband on October 29, 1977 in Pekin; 1 infant son; and 4 brothers.
Surviving are 4 sons, Terry E. (Jeannie) Brown and Kevin L. (Julie) Brown, both of Pekin, Jerome F. (Deborah) Brown of Tremont, and Michael G. (Patricia) Brown of North Port, Florida; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Roy (Pat) Black of Quincy; and 2 sisters, Ella (Wayne) Putnam and Judy Buchanan, both of Mt. Sterling.
A homemaker, Betty was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Pekin.
She loved cooking, crocheting, sewing, and fishing with the boys.
She was a member of TOPS and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2007at her church. The Rev. Syl Carter will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2007at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
