Betty L Rathbun

Born February 18, 1937 in Fulton to Jacob and Gertie (VanZuiden) Blink, she married Edwin Rathbun on June 29, 1956 as at Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport, Louisiana. He died September 18, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters.

Surviving are 1 brother, Eugene (Mitzi) Blink of Troy; 2 nieces, Melody and Liz and 2 nephews, Harold and Eugene, Jr.; and many friends.

Betty and her husband owned and operated the Busy Corner Grill in Pekin from 1974 to 2002.

She served in the U.S. Air Force as a WAF from 1955-60.

Betty was a member of Pekin First Church of God.

Her memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010at Pekin First Church of God. The Rev. Paul D. Myers will officiate. Cremation will be accorded. Private burial be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin, with military graveside honors provided by the U.S. Air Force and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.

Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.

After the memorial service, friends and family will gather for a time of food and fellowship at the Busy Corner Grill, 229 Derby St. in Pekin.
