Kim and family, sorry to hear about the loss of your dad.  What a great guy.  I can not tell you the number of times he had help me with something I had done wrong on the computer.  He was always cheerful and smiling.....

My sincerest condolences to the Doud family.  Mr. Doud was a kind, professional and patient man with all the kids at Edison.  I went to talk to him several times and he always calmed whatever fears or problems I was having at the time.  He will be missed.

A good and faithful man is "Finally Home."  I remember your dad singing this song at several funerals over the years offering special comfort to his church family..."But just think of stepping on shore and finding it heaven, Of touching a hand and finding it God's, Of breathing new air and finding it celestial, Of waking up in glory and finding it home."  May memories of your dad sharing this song provide you much comfort in the days ahead.



The thing that stands oout in my mind is Bruce's faithfulness. His faithfulness to his church in very regular attendance; his faithfulness is studying the word of God. And his faithfulness to his convictions. He truly was a rock for the rest of us.

Dear Shirley, Kim and Diana and families,  
We know that you have the comfort of knowing that Bruce is in the presence of the Lord he loved and served for so many years.  We know, though, that his absence leaves a "hole" in your lives.  May the Lord bless you and comfort you as you adjust to the fact that your life has changed.  We will continue praying for you.

Your Dad was a fine Christian gentleman.  We had many conversations over the years, and almost every one of them had somewhere in them words about the goodness of the Lord in our lives.  We shared interests because of our chosen vocations in education, but, much more than that, we were "brothers in Christ!"  Thank God for His unspeakable gift of Jesus Christ to us!  You all are in our prayers.

Bruce was a dedicated Sun. school teacher and we were blessed to have been in his class for four and a half years.  We will miss him but look forward to that glorious reunion in the sky!

We have been so delighted to get to  know Bruce when he returned to our area and attended our church, East Lawrence Baptist in Lawrenceville, Pa. Some of his family members are also members of our church. We have been praying for Bruce as he battled illness. It is so reassuring to know that he is with the Lord and withWV so many friends and loved ones that have gone on before. What a reunion!!!

We started teaching at Edison Jr. High in 1966.  Bruce was a science teacher at that time and was extremely helpful. His friendship and concern over the years we worked together will never be forgotten.  He had so many interests and talents and never stopped learning.

Bruce has been a friend since I met him at the Photoggery when I came to Pekin in 1971. He was always a bright spot in my life, as I'm sure he was to all who knew and loved him. His beautiful photographs were a window into his deep, warm heart and soul. He will be sorely missed.  

Mr. Doud was such an awesome man. He always walked the hallways smiling at us kids. He was kind hearted but loved to tease us. He will be missed.....

I very much remember Mr. Doud at Edison. Seems like he always had a smile on his face. My condolences to his family, he will be deeply missed !!!!!!! 

Mr. Doud was one of my first heroes.  He was there to help me through the tragic death of a childhood friend. He was always there whenever I needed that extra support through a hug, kind word, smile, or just being present in a room to remind me I wasn't alone.  He is already missed.

Bruce's family and mine were neighbors and friends where we grew up in Lambs Creek/Mansfield, Pennsylvania, when I was a little girl.  I have great memories of Bruce and his brothers and parents, even though he was several years older than I.  We went to the same schools and were part of the Lambs Creek Bible Church.
Some 50 years after our lives took very different paths, I had the privilege of chatting with Bruce at the Lambs Creek Picnic a few years ago. Since then, I've looked forward to his Facebook posts, and his strong faith in the face of his illness never failed to encourage me. It won't be all that long until we will be able to chat again, in person, in the Father's house. I pray God's blessing and comfort on all of Bruce's family and friends.

So sorry to hear of Mr. Doud's passing.  He was an amazing teacher and person. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.  
I have many fond memories of Mr. Doud as my Science teacher at Edison.  He had the coolest way to handle all the pre-teens.  I really believe he enjoyed us as much as we enjoyed him.  I remember one year before I knew I had the mumps I told him that my face hurt.  He responded by saying, "Well, it's killing me".  Always funny, always a great person.  Now he is at peace and there is no more suffering for him.  Bless your hearts during this time.

It is so sad to lose such a wonderful person such as Bruce. The pain he went through is now no more and God has enfolded him in His arms at last.

Dear Family......words could never express what Bruce has meant to this community and family and friends!  He always had a smile but you knew when he was serious!  A great inspiration to many young people!  We are so sorry for your loss and you have our deepest sympathy and prayers.  May God be with you in this time of need!

I have been thinking about Bruce quite often lately.  When I started teaching in Room 31 at Edison in 1968, he was next door in Room 33.  I was the new kid and he was the seasoned veteran.  I learned how to be a good science teacher from his example.  Living now in Music City, I think of Bruce whenever I hear a gospel group perform... like Ernie Haas and Signature Sound.  Bruce Doud and Ken Ruth were two people who profoundly affected the person I am today.  I will never forget them and I am eternally grateful.  "Via con Dios, Bruce!"

I pray for comfort for your family. I am glad that Bruce will never suffer again, but he is a special person and will leave such a loss here on earth.  He was always my favorite songleader and he has so much more to sing about now in heaven.

I was a student of Mr. Doud's at Edison Junior High School.  He was a good, kind man and excellent teacher.  My sincere condolences to his family.  May He Rest In Peace.

Sorry to hear of Bruce's passing. He will suffer no more. No matter how prepared we think we are, it is never enough.When the Lord calls our loved ones home,he leaves a gift of memories.  Happy memories will help to carry you through this sorrowful time.

It was a privilege to watch the video and recall how many lives Bruce Doud influenced.  He faithfully served others in many capacities.  As my high school sunday school teacher, I know he cared about me. He often showed compassion during those up and down emotional years.  I cried on his shoulder on more than one occasion.  He is of the generation that has set the example of pouring ourselves into others.  His death will leave a gap for others to fill.  My great sympathies are extended to Shirley, Diana, and Kim.  I love you, and would love to see you all once again!  I'll be praying for you throughout this weekend!

My heart is very heavy today. Mr. Doud will forever be one of the most wonderful, caring people I have ever had the pleasure to know. His love of education and his students was evident and I will never forget him. My sympathies and prayers go out to his family. We all lost a wonderful man today. 

He was a wonderful educator and a great neighbor. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.

Mr. Doud was one of the best teachers that I ever had. I also enjoyed him as a Sunday school teacher at Pekin Bible Church. I'll always remember his smiling face and the professional way he handled teaching at both places. My prayers include him and his family.

How many ways did we know Bruce?  He was Claudie's science teacher, Steve's assistant principal, Claudie's assistant principal, 
photographer and videographer for our business, but most of all, mentor and friend.  Bruce was the ultimate mentor and teacher for so many kids and adults, us included.  We are forever grateful for his knowledge, help, and encouragement in so many facets of our lives, and we will miss him terribly.  We know he is at peace with the Lord.  May that give all of us comfort.  Our thoughts and sympathies are with all of his family.
