Bruce A. Melton

He was born November 4, 1965 in Peoria to Noel and Patsy (Hornback) Melton, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clark Melton and Harold Melton and one sister, Patricia Moore.

Surviving are one son, Michael (Karrie Bruder) Melton of Pekin; one daughter, Cassy Melton of Wyoming; eight grandchildren, Alyvia Keyes, Baylee Keyes, Elliot Harr, Finley Harr, Ezra Darr, Abraxis Bruder, Vanellope Melton and Raven Melton; one brother, Noel Melton, Jr. and two sisters, Virginia (Richard) Wissler of Washington and Melinda (David) Wheeler of Marion.

Bruce had worked as a self-employed drywall installer.

He enjoyed golfing and playing Frisbee disc golf, playing video games and working on computers. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking from scratch and watching “Everyone Loves Raymond”. He found his greatest enjoyment being around children, especially his grandchildren.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2024 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Dave McCurdy will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Woodrow Cemetery in rural Pekin.

Memorial contributions may be given to his son, Michael Melton to help offset funeral cost.
