

Born November 30, 1942 in Pekin to Irvin, Sr. and Annetta(Bruder) Adcock, he married Mary Frances Murphy on April 28, 1963 in East Peoria.
Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Lisa (Gary) Pool of Manito; one son, Jim (Suzanne) Adcock of Pekin; five grandchildren, Brandi (Jess) VanNattan, Jarrod Adcock, and MacKenzie Adcock, all of Pekin, and Austin Pool and Sierra Pool, both of Manito; two great-grandchildren, Kylee Nash and Kolton Lambert, both of Pekin; two brothers, George Adcock of Pekin and Jerry Adcock of California; and seven sisters, Elizabeth Yerly of Arizona, Jacquelin Wright of California, Jan (Jerry) Grimm of Edmonds, Washington, Louise (Don) Thomas of Manito, and Joyce (John) Ziegenbein, Linda Smith, and Diana (Walt) Emmons, all of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Brandon VanNattan; two sisters, Wilma Ehrett and Jeanine Smith; and three brothers, Irvin Adcock, Jr., Robert Adcock, and Lyle Adcock.
Byron owned Ehrett’s TV and Appliance in Creve Coeur for over 35 years. He later worked as a maintenance man for Tazewell County for several years, last working November 5, 2013
He was a member of the Pekin Moose Family Center #916, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1869, and the Roy L. King VFW Post #1232 Men’s Auxiliary, all in Pekin.
Byron enjoyed fishing, playing poker, and mushroom hunting. He was a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
His visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2013 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Cremation will be accorded following the visitation. There will be a celebration of life gathering from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Roy L. King Veterans of Foriegn WarsPost #1232, 15665 VFW Road in Pekin.
