

Born September 11, 1946 in Pekin to Carl A., Jr. and Lorraine S. (Slyder) Johnson, he married Jayne Sellers on December 19, 1967. She died October 30, 1987. He then married Shirley Ann Purvis on October 28, 1996 in Las Vegas. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Carl A., IV (Kristina) Johnson of Indianapolis and Joshua L. Johnson of East Peoria; one daughter, Jennifer L. (Rhett) Beaumont of Palatine; two step-sons, Wade (Kim) Bradley of Jefferson City, Missouri and Eric (Tish) Lambert of Delavan; nine grandchildren, Zakary and Nickolas Johnson of Indianapolis, Katherine and Lauren Beaumont of East Peoria, Jared and Melissa Bradley of Jefferson City and Aaron, Eden and Natalie Lambert of Delavan and one brother, David A. (Lisa) Johnson of North Pekin.
He was also preceded in death his parents and one sister, Regina E. Brown on February 2, 1999.
Carl served in the Army in Germany during the Vietnam War.
He worked for Keystone Steel and Wire Company in Bartonville for 38 years, retiring in 2003. He was a member of Iron Workers Local 112 and the Independent Steel Workers Alliance.
Following retirement, Carl and his wife, Shirley, moved to the Lake of the Ozarks area.
He loved corvettes and enjoyed attending auto shows. He also was a fan of the Chicago Bears.
His visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2005at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Cremation has been accorded.
Memorial contributions may be made to his family to help defray medical expenses.
