Chantel Renee Maxwell

She was born on April 25, 1977 in Peoria to Barry Clayton Maxwell and Deborah Renee Shelton. She was preceded in death by her father; her stepfather, Gary Shelton and an infant daughter, Ashalyn Gutierrez.

Surviving are her mother of Pekin; four children, Isabelle (Travis) Myers-McGinnis of Mackinaw, Alea Eaton of Mackinaw, Emily Maxwell of Mackinaw and Aria Gutierrez of Morton; six grandchildren, Elliott McGinnis, Odin Myers, Irie, Emmett ,Spencer and Santanna Hill; four siblings, Barry “Sean” Maxwell of Pekin; Clayton (Rebecca) Maxwell of Eureka, Erica Shelton-Cox of Arkansas and Rachel Nelson of Japan and many nieces and nephews.

Chantel liked staying busy, working as a custodian but formerly worked as a certified nursing assistant.

She enjoyed drawing, coloring, listening to music and true crime stories, collecting all kinds of trinkets and spending time with her grandchildren.

A celebration of Chantel’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
