

Charles R. “Chuck” Cornwell, 82, of Arlington, Texas, formerly of Pekin, Illinois, died Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the Texas Masonic Retirement Center in Arlington, Texas. He was born on October 14, 1929 in Pekin, Illinois. He was the son of James and Rebecca (Leslie) Cornwell. He married Betty Goben on June 26,1948 in East Peoria, Illinois; she preceded him in death on November 1, 2005 in Arlington, Texas. He is also preceded by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Chuck is survived by two daughters, Debbie (Mark) Wazac of Arlington, Texas and Charlene (Dr. David) Brown DMD of Clearwater, Florida. He has one sister, Martha Beeney of Pekin, Illinois. There are four grandchildren surviving, Brian and Matthew (Jenna) Wazac both of Arlington, Texas, Jayson(Jessica) and Lauren Brown both of Clearwater, Florida. There are two great grandchildren, Aidan and Ava Brown –Nazario of Clearwater, Florida.
He was a Machinist Supervisor for many years at Morton Metalcraft in Morton. He was a member since 1968 and a past Master in 1977 of the Empire Masonic Lodge #126 A.F. and A.M., Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria, and the Mohammed Temple Shrine. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pekin and a member of the Pleasantview Baptist Church in Texas.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the Davison Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin. The Rev. Dr. Howard Reitz will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday August 31, 2012 at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held at 7:45 PM Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. There will be a celebration luncheon of Chuck’s life after the graveside services at the Masonic Temple, 338 Elizabeth St., Pekin, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Texas Masonic Retirement Center, 1501 W. Division St., Arlington, Texas, 76012.
