

He was born February 20, 1940 in Lincoln, the son of Clarence and Ada (Frampton) Frye. Dean married Arleta Marie Maus on January 6, 1961 in Pekin. She preceded him in death on November 21, 2023.
Dean also was preceded by his parents; son, Steven Frye; grandson, Kyle Watson; brother, Rolland Frye; two sisters Sherry and Pat.
He is survived by two daughters, Dana (Robert) Wernli of Bakersfield, CA, Cheryle (Randy) Watson of Summersville, MO; son, Jimie “Jim” (Annette) Frye of Pekin; three brothers, Tom, Jim and John Frye; one sister, Sandy (John) Buley; seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and two great-greatgrandchildren.
He worked for Morton Metal Craft for fifteen years as a welder. Dean previously worked for Welding Supplies, Corn Products for fifteen years and did welding jobs on the side.
Dean enjoyed spending time with family, deer hunting and welding fabricating. He won the St. Championship of “Off Road Dune Buggy” in the 1960’s.
Cremation has been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory of Pekin. There will be no services at this time.
