Cherie L Colston

Born November 17, 1953 in Peoria to Jack and Joanne (Monks) Gibson, she married Michael F. Colston on July 26, 1975 in Glasford. He survives.

Also surviving are her parents of Glasford; one son, Matthew (Jenny) Colston of Hoopeston; one grandson, Alex; one brother, Tom Gibson of Glasford; two nieces, Mandy and Sarah; three great-nieces, Abby, Allie and Anna; and one great-nephew, Kayden.

Cherie was a member of Glasford Baptist Church.

She had owned and operated Cherie’s Kut N Kurl in Glasford for 22 years. She had also worked as a real estate agent in Pekin and Peoria for 20 years. She was currently serving as the tax assessor for Timber Township and was a charter member of the Board of Directors for the T.L. Rural Water District.

A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Cherie cherished time spent with her family. She enjoyed building, decorating and landscaping her home. She loved going to basketball games and playing with Cindy. She also loved being with Ben, Rhet and spending lots of time with Blair, Ava, Chase, and their mothers, Jill and Jan.

Cremation rites will be accorded. There will be no visitation or service. Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin is in charge of arrangements.
