He was born June 21, 1948 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Claude E. and Ann (Meyers) Carter Sr.
Surviving are three daughters, Christine (Burton) Joesting of Pekin, Erin Carter and Dee Carter, both of Virginia; two sons, Cotey and Austin Carter of Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Cassandra Carter, Jakob Butler and Lucas Milwee-Smallwood and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Claude E Carter, III; one great-grandson, Maddix Eugene Carter and one brother, Keith Carter.
Claude worked as a union electrician. He would travel to different union locations working on the biggest jobs those states had to offer.
He enjoyed many hobbies such as playing football, singing and writing music and playing his guitar. Claude was a jack-of-all-trades and could do anything he set his mind to.
He was a very social person always making people laugh.
