Connie J Rawson

Born March 25, 1938 in Cropsy, she was the daughter of Otis and Mary Louise (Collings) Burge, she married Jack D. Rawson on August 22, 1986 in Pekin. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Robert Groenewold, Jr. of South Pekin; four daughters, Theresa Funk of Madison, Wisconsin, Sherrie Rawson of Murphysboro, Michelle (Dennis) Prater of Groveland, Stephanie Rawson of Tremont; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Thomas Burge of California, Eddie (Linda) Brown of Decatur, Texas and Sammy (Carol) Brown of Pekin; four sisters, Michelle Burge of Pekin and Emma Bush of Pottstown, Paula (David) Miller of Mesquite, Texas and Patty Hurst of East Peoria; one uncle, Earl (May) Gordon of Heyworth; and many nieces and nephews, including her nephew, Rodney Bush, whom she helped raise. She also leaves behind many special friends in South Pekin and Pekin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and two sisters.

Connie was a member of the South Pekin Congregational Church.

She had worked as a bartender and waitress in bars and restaurants in and around Pekin. She also drove a school bus for years for Hoyle Bus Company.

Connie loved to sit in coffee shops and drink her coffee. She also enjoyed dancing. She adored her great granddaughter, Erika Lynne and loved taking care of her.

Cremation rites will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. There will be no services.
