

Born April 24, 1932 in Tremont to Albert John and Hazel (Ritthaler) Hillman, he married Carol Marie Schappaugh on August 2, 1953 in Pekin. She died February 28, 2013 in Peoria. He also was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kenneth A. Hillman.
Surviving are his daughter, Dr. Brenda Hillman of Des Moines, IA; his son, Douglas (Lynette) Hillman of Bartonville; two grandchildren, Drew Hillman and Brooke Hillman, both of Bartonville; and a sister-in-law, Violet Hillman of Morton.
A 1950 graduate of Morton High School, he served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955 as a Specialist-Class 5.
Curt was a custom home builder in the Pekin area for 25 years. From 1984 to 2002, he worked as a kitchen and bath designer with KBL Design Center in Peoria.
He was a member of the Grace Church in Morton and served with and supported Gideon’s International.
He was a strong and faithful Christian man who loved God and his family more than anything else. He was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Grace Church in Morton. Pastor Glyn Knight and Pastor Doug Habegger will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, and also from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Groveland Mennonite Church Cemetery in Groveland.
