
Born on March 14, 1938 in Pekin, he was a son of Louis Oscar and Jennie Elizabeth (Hundt) Watson. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Terry Watson and Dennis Watson; two brothers, Don Watson and Richard Watson and one sister, Wilma Schappaugh.
Surviving are three grandchildren, Cody Watson, Casey Watson, both of Wichita, Kansas and Chelsey Watson of Pekin; his daughter-in-law, Laura Watson of Pekin; two sisters, Wanda Clough and Rose Watson, both of California and his dear friends, Kevin and Tammy McCabe of Pekin.
Dale had a diverse and accomplished career. He worked for Caterpillar, Inc., and spent a portion of his professional life as an over-the-road truck driver. He retired as a maintenance superintendent for a large apartment complex in Wichita, Kansas. After spending nearly 30 years in Wichita, he returned to Pekin in 2005.
In his personal life, Dale had a passion for guns and cars, and he was known for his love of watching old westerns. A movie buff at heart, he was easygoing and approachable, always ready for a conversation. Dale's friendly and warm nature endeared him to many.
Dale Eugene Watson will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
There will be no visitation or funeral ceremony. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
