Dale E Watts

Born February 16, 1933 in Cass County, IA to Verl and Velma (Crum) Watts, he married Lenna Cox on May 27, 1955 in Cabool, MO.  She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Deborah Myers of Pekin; one son, Ronald (Janet) Watts of Pekin; four grandchildren, Eric (Rachel) Myers, Greg Watts, Ivy Watts and Christy (Devin) Burks, all of Pekin; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Nancy) Watts of Peoria and one sister, Reba (John) Rychnovsky of Diagonal, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son-in-law, Rick Myers.

Dale had served in the United States Army.

He had worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 35 years, retiring from the Research and Development Department in Mossville in 1986.

A loving father and grandfather, Dale loved to hunt, fish, go camping, square dancing and bowling.

His memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  The Rev. W. Lloyd Brock will officiate.  Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m.  Military rites will be provided by the United States Army and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.  Burial of cremated remains will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Central Illinois Chapter, 606 West Glen Avenue, Peoria, IL or to Pekin First Church of the Nazarene, 3514 Broadway Road, Pekin, IL 61554 or to Tazewell Animal Protective Society, 100 Taps Lane, Pekin, IL 61554.
