

Born December 11, 1955 in Pekin to Ira Sulvester "Chink" and Olive Estelle (Melvin) Seals, he married Teresa Lou Williams on July 8, 1978 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Carissa A. Seals of Pekin; two sisters, Linda K. (Michael) Grogan and Margaret A. (Allen) Martin, both of Pekin; step-mother, Mary Seals of Ullin; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son (Bradley S. Seals on February 12, 2000 in Pekin).
Dan worked for Gray Inter-plant at Caterpillar, Inc., last working in October 2000 as a fork lift operator in building KK in East Peoria. Previously, he worked for Corn Products Company in Pekin and Taloma Grain in Delavan.
He was a member of Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in rural Pekin, where he had been a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, youth leader, and a dart ball team member. He also was past president of the Pekin Area Church Dart Ball League. He coached and umpired for many sports teams in the Pekin area over the years.
Dan was a Detroit Lions football fan and a Saint Louis Cardinals baseball fan. He enjoyed trains and computers. He portrayed Santa Claus in the Pekin area for several years.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2006at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Keith D. Moore will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
