Born August 22, 1959 in Pekin to Mary Ann Vonderheide and Joe Parkin, he married Colleen Downes on November 1, 2014 in Utica. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Stephanie Ghidina of Peoria and Morgan Ann Berry of McConnellsburg, PA; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Jimmy (Connie) Berry of Manito, Joe “Tom” (Robin) Parkin of Albuquerque, NM, Randy (Donna) Frazier of Lincoln, NE; three sisters, Erin (Wayne) Woods of Manito, Susan (James) Coatney of Dodgeville, WI and Denielle (Michael) Underwood of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Louie Frazier who raised Danny, and one brother.
Danny had worked for Triton Construction as a superintendent of the concrete company in Staten Island, NY until his retirement in June, 2015.
He was a member of the Pheasant Run Hunting Club in Montauk, NY.
A loving husband whose world was centered by Colleen, Danny loved hunting, fishing and living every day. He was a person that never met a stranger and just enjoyed taking care of people. He was a “mender” and the glue of the family. The words “I love you” came very easy from him.
His memorial visitation will be from 2 until 4 p.m., Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering starting at noon, Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the cabin in Spring Lake.
