Danny Lee Carlson

Born May 11, 1947 in Peoria to Fredrick and Edna Alice (Behrends) Carlson, he married Julie L. Keener on March 6, 1971 at Creve Coeur Christian Church. He later married Carol Rae Henricks on November 14, 1986 in Pekin. She died October 8, 2013 in Pekin. He also was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Freddy Dean Carlson.

Surviving are two daughters, Janet (Scott) Jackson of Mapleton and Diana (Pastor Brock) Winkler of Bartonville; seven grandchildren, Logan Jackson, Lauren Jackson, Abraham Winkler, Eden Winkler, Solomon Winkler, Josiah Winkler and Sarah Winkler; one sister, Linda (Gene) Keener of Hopedale and a special friend, Marilyn Murphy of Pekin. He also had four nieces, one nephew and many “Honorary Family Members.”

He had served in the Illinois Army National Guard.

Danny was a graduate of the University of Illinois in Champaign and was retired from Caterpillar, Inc. with 30 years of service.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1869 in Pekin. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s school and sporting events. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin is assisting the family with arrangements.
