Danny Lee Martindale

Born February 3, 1954 in Canton to William Keith and Jennie Lee (Turner) Martindale, he married Janet Lee McCartney on December 23, 1978 in Lewistown.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years; one son, Joshua Lee Martindale of North Pekin and one brother, Terry (Lynn) Martindale of Lewistown.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Berneata Keefauver.

Danny had worked at Mitsubishi in Bloomington for 20 years and previously worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria. While at Caterpillar, Danny was a member of Local UAW 974 serving as a line steward.

A loving and dedicated husband, father and brother, Danny had a passion for animals and motorcycles, snowmobiles and cars, especially his Mustang. He also enjoyed vacationing in the Smoky Mountains, spending time on the beach in Florida and his dream vacation in Hawaii.

Danny formerly attended Smithfield Church of the Nazarene.

His funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Smithfield Church of the Nazarene located at 155 South Main St., Smithfield, Illinois. Rev. Dean Potts will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Baughman Cemetery in Smithfield.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston- Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.

In honor of Danny’s love for animals, memorial contributions may be given to an animal shelter of the donor’s choice.
