David E Putt

Born October 13, 1952 in Canton to Charles W. and Leola (Bishop) Putt, Sr., he married Dondra L. DeMichele on January 9, 1998 in Lewistown. She survives.

Also surviving are four children, Nikki M. Swift, Joshua Putt, Derek DeMichele and Justin Hagaman; one grandson, Clint Swift and one brother, Charles W. (Mary) Putt. He also leaves a sister-in-law, Sonya (Marcus) Battiest; two brothers-in-law, Martin Eibeck and Dennis Eibeck and his aunt, Karen Cole.

His parents preceded him in death.

David retired from Caterpillar, Inc. in June of 2007 with 35 years of service, last working in East Peoria.

He was a dedicated husband and father. He also loved watching old or classic movies and adored his pet dog. He was a licensed Ham radio operator with the call sign, N9TTE.

His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral. Inurnment will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery in Mapleton at a later date.
