David E Sorenson

Born August 28, 1956 in Pekin to Russell and Marilyn (MacMullan) Sorenson, he married Penny Brown on July 5, 1990 in Melbourne, FL. She Survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Steven and David Lee, both of Pekin and two sisters, Alida Calhoun Missy (Patrick) Flately, both of Pekin.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dave had served in the United States Army.

He had attended Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin.

Dave had been a truck driver for Fort Transfer in Morton, last working in 2002 due to his health.

He was a member of the North Pekin Amvets #169 and the Pekin Marine Corps League.

A man who never met a stranger, could do anything and was always on the go, Dave enjoyed boating, being outdoors working in the yard and doing landscaping. He was also a great cook and baker.

The family will be having a Celebration of Life Gathering and Benefit at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Marine Corps League, 13370 Garman Road, Pekin, IL 61554. Cremation will be accorded. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
