

David was the son of the late Jack E. Stiffler and Mary E. (Giffin) Stiffler. He was preceded in death by his brothers Jack E. Stiffler Jr., Thomas R. Stiffler, sister Mary Jane Larkin, and grandson Casyn Stiffler.
David is survived by his brother Jack Hilbert (wife Patricia) of Parker CO; and two sons, David J Stiffler (wife Brooke) of Bessemer, NC; and, Scott Stiffler of Baraboo WI; and, daughter Briony Jackson of Monmouth, Il. He is also survived by his nephews; Bill Stiffler, Osawatomie, KS; Jack Hilbert II (wife Amanda) and Jassen Hilbert, both of Parker CO; David had 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
David was born in Pueblo, CO and graduated from Centennial High School where he lettered in wrestling.
He was a Vietnam Era Veteran serving in Germany in the US Army as a Military Policeman and Provost Marshal Investigator. Upon returning to the US, David served as the Chief of Police in several Wisconsin towns; Wonewok, Reedsburg and Spring Green. After leaving law enforcement he worked for Syntec managing environmental cleanup sights and Seneca Oil managing their tank plant in Peoria, Il. David was also a farmer and locksmith.
His favorite hobbies were playing Scrabble, Gin Rummy, hunting, shooting and watching the Green Bay Packers football team.
Services will be private on a date yet to be determined. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
