David D Vickers

He was born May 27, 1962 in Athens, Alabama to James R. Vickers and Geraldine Mae (Talley) Pribble.

Surviving are his mother of Pekin; one daughter, Trena Lynn Vickers of Indiana; three grandchildren, Madilynn M. Sutton, Raelyn Mattson and Korbin Mattson, all of Indiana; three brothers, Steven Vickers of Alabama, Bobby Pribble and Kevin (Jessy) Pribble, both of Pekin; and two sisters, Cindy (Rodney) Giddens of Hammond, Indiana and Marsha Fritz of Janesville, Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Roger Vickers; and one sister, Wanda Daniels.

David was of the Baptist faith.

A member of Carpenter’s Union Local 237, he had worked as a carpenter for over twenty years for Stark Excavating out of Bloomington, retiring in May 2017.

He loved his family dearly and enjoyed hanging out with family and friends.  He especially liked hanging out at Pribb’s Pub.

Cremation rites will be accorded.  The family will host a celebration of his life at a later date.  Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
