

Born February 24, 1934 in Pekin to Bert Nelson and Kathleen Emma (Smith) Larimore, he married June Yvonne “Bonnie” Templeton on June 7, 1994 at Las Vegas, Nevada. She died July 13, 2021 in Pekin. He also was preceded in death by his parents; one step-son, Mark Lawson; two brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are one step-son, Gary Lawson of Pekin; one step-daughter, Carol (Tim) Reed of Pekin; two granddaughters, Mary Schneider and Amy (Jeff) Frank, both of Pekin; one grandson, Daniel (Angie) Reed of Pekin; four great-grandchildren, Malorie (Aaron) Bramm, Andrew (Erica Doman) Schneider, Eloise Frank and Vincent Schneider and two great-great-grandsons, Francisco and Elliot.
A 1952 graduate of Pekin Community High School, Dean served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1957.
Dean was a building engineer and maintenance worked at First Financial Bank for 10 years, last working on July 17, 1996. He also was self-employed owner of Dean’s Heating and Air Conditioning in East Peoria for many years. He previously had also worked at Peoria Thermal.
He was a longtime private pilot and loved flying. He also square danced for many years and enjoyed roller skating.
He was a member of Bayview Baptist Church in Washington. He was a life member of Empire Lodge 126, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of Pekin.
Masonic services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, with a funeral service immediately following. Pastor Randy Justus will officiate. A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Military rites will be accorded by the United States Air Force and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
