

Born July 1, 1984 in Clinton, Iowa to Randy Lee and Kelly Jean (Nell) Stone, he married Sharon Janette Wagner on January 10, 2011 in Lacon. She survives.
Also surviving are his parents of Holbrook, Arizona; one daughter, Nevaeh Stone of LaSalle; one son, Drake Stone of LaSalle; one step-daughter, Xoe Myers of LaSalle; five brothers, Troy (Gina) Stone of Pekin, Brad (Shawna) Stone of Peoria, Pat Stone and Mark Stone, both of Holbrook, Arizona, and John Stone of state of Oregon; two sisters, Rebekah Crumbie of Canton and Rachel Stone of Holbrook, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
A United States Army veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he served from March 20, 2002 to July 12, 2005. He attained the rank of Private First Class.
Dean worked for Agridyne, LLC for the past 2 ½ years and was currently working as a rail car inspector in Pekin. He was recently promoted and was a waiting to be transferred to be the plant manager at the Holcomb, Kansas facility. Previously, he worked as a deck hand for Osage Marine in Hennepin and for other tow boat companies on the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers.
Dean enjoyed fishing, grilling out, and anything to do with the outdoors.
His visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin, where military rites will be accorded by the United States Army and Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stone Children Education Fund in care of the funeral home.
