Delaine L Gardner

Born March 16, 1950 in Pekin to Roy A. and Elizabeth (Mitchell) Thompson, she married Roy Nelson Gardner on March 4, 1972 in Pekin. He died March 5, 2012 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren; one brother, Donald Thompson and one sister, Louella Perry.

Surviving are two daughters, Nancy (Glen) Roberts of Washburn and Patty Gardner of Pekin; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Wiker of South Pekin; one grandson, Cody Wiker of South Pekin; and two brothers, Donavon (Rose) Hasler and James (Barb) Thompson, both of Pekin.

Dee had been the department manager and sales floor manager at Walmart for 22 years, retiring in 2012.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading and working in her yard.

Dee was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pekin.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Mark Thompson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
