Dennis R Crotty

Born July 8, 1941 in Pekin to Arthur William and Mary Margaret (Guthrie) Crotty, he married Sally Ann Anderson on November 7, 1964 in Pekin.  She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Brigitte (David) Harper of Pekin and Holly (Mazin Merghani) Crotty of Decatur; and one granddaughter, Madison Harper of Pekin.  He also leaves behind his dog, Sammie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and twin sister, Sandra Kay Crotty.

Dennis was a graduate of Woodruff High School in Peoria, where he played football.  His 1957 football team was inducted into the Greater Peoria Sports Hall of Fame.

He had worked at International Paper Company in Peoria for 35 years, last working as a foreman.  He later drove for Central Illinois Courier, Inc. for 10 years.

He was a member of the Pekin Moose Family Center #916.  He was of the Baptist faith. 

Dennis was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa. 

His memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2011 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  Kenneth Seest will officiate.  Visitation will be from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Private burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria at a later date.
