I'm gonna miss you Dixie! I shared a great deal of time with your family and you meant a lot to me. When I had no one around you were ALWAYS there for me.  We had great laughs over drinks and a few laughs over the grass on your kitchen floor that I will NEVER forget! Your a special lady with a wonderful heart and a firecracker at times (which was my favorite part of you).  I wish you hadn't gone so soon.  But I am sure that God welcomed you with open arms. Rest in peace my friend.  My heart goes out to Bobbi & Jeff and all of your family. Goodbye Dixie McQueen, may I blessed enough to see you in Heaven someday....

I don't know how to say goodbye it hurts too much, you were so much of my life.  No one could ever fill that void in my heart.  I can't remember ever being without you or your opinion (not that I always agreed as you had many opinions) thats probably what I will miss the most the part of you that kept me on my toes and frustrated and sometimes angered me like nobody else could.  We shared so much and you knew me like nobody else does I already miss you so much it physically hurts.  Dear big sister please rest in peace you have earned it and deserve it.  I love you from the deepest part of my heart. Your little sister.....

Dixie
I remember the first time we met; you pulled up in front of my parents’ house at the same time as the Cops. I was sure my chances with Sharon had been shot but you were a bit of a rebel too. Because you had seen your share of trouble and weren’t going to judge me because of this, we are Uncle Brent and Aunt Sharon today. You have been a big part of our lives for as long as I can remember and remembering for me isn’t easy. I will miss you more than I can say, I have a hole in my heart and a feeling of sadness and remorse because I will never get to tell you how much I feel for you and what you meant to me. But I think you knew.


I am thinking of you and the family.  Dixie worked at Hopedale when my folks were there, Jerry and Helen Sweet.  She was very caring person. Yvonne (Knobeloch) Goeken, Tremont,IL

I worked with Dixie many years ago at Perino Nursing Home when I was a new nursing home consultant.  My job was to supervise Dixie's work with the residents.  Easiest job I ever had!  Dixie knew each resident intimately and it was very obvious she cared for each person.  Many of those residents had very visits from family and friends, so Dixie and the rest of the staff stepped in and showed great care and compassion.  I was priviledged to have known her.

Dixie we had many good times together . So sorry to the family and I will have everyone in my prayers. I also am sick I can't make it to see her laid at rest. I loved her like a sister. My heart is broken . I know how she loved her family the most. She will be missed what a wonderful person she was.

I was so sad to hear of Dixie's untimely passing....way too soon. My heart goes out to her family and I extend my deepest sympathy to you all. God bless and comfort you.

I am so sorry to read about the passing of Dixie.  She worked at Hopedale Complex when my parents (Louis and Rachel Pescaglia) were residents there.  Dixie was so good with the residents and always had their well being first in her mind.  Everyone loved Dixie and she will surely be missed by all who loved her.


Aunt Dixi, We will not say good bye to someone we love so much and has been apart of our lives for so long. So we will just say untill we meet again. You will always be in our thoughts, in our hearts and be greatly missed.

Sharon and family, I am so very sorry for your loss. I remember having lots of fun at your house and all the fun with Dixie living right down the street from me. She was a big part of my life as a child. My heart hurts for you and your family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

You were the greatest grandma I had the privilege to have. I couldn't even realize the amount of love and care you tried to give me as your grandson. I meant so much to you, and I wish could I tell you how much I will miss and love you for the rest of my life, after you being such a large part of mine for the past 14 years. I remember you would always insist to take me to maid-rite in Pekin when it first opened.  up. When we finally sat down to go eat i remember it being one of grossest things i had ever eaten. When you asked how it was i just smiled and nodded that it was "delicious". I didn't do it jsut to lie, or because i wanted to down as quick as possible, I did it because that's what we do to people we love, we do it to make them as happy as we possibly can. I love you so much grandma and i'll live you forever. Rest in Peace.

Grandma words can't even begin to say how much you will be missed.  You were such a big part of my life, and always there for me.  You were a Great Grandma! An Awesome great-grandma. And know you will be with me forever & still watching Remington. There's so many great memories with you, you will live forever in my heart!  I Love You mama Dixie!  Rest in peace
